Prerequisites: Take NUR 121 NUR 122 ; Minimum grade C;
Builds upon the concepts of Pharmacology I and II. Focuses on safe administration of medications to diverse patents across the life span. Requires application of critical thinking related to the therapeutic use and safe administration of medication to patients with complex healthcare needs. Incorporates patient teaching prinicples and clinical judgment to improve patient outcomes. Analyzes the impact of the healthcare environment on the nurse’s role in safely administering medications. Emphasizes the nurse’s role as patient advocate.
