120 (or higher), and ENG
122 if they have not successfully completed these courses with a minimum grade of C- prior to enrollment. This course explores the history and evolution of the sustainability movement. An examination of key developments, definitions, and principles provides a platform for students to evaluate sustainability as a critical paradigm shift. Issues such as human population growth, carrying capacity, global warming, and complex systems theory are discussed while innovative perspectives such as ecological design, biomimicry, and adaptive management are analyzed and applied.
