Fire Science Technology: Fire Academy II Certificate



Picture of students training for their Fire Academy II Certificate at CMC.This certificate program is intended to advance fire fighters to the next level in the fire service. Students will learn new skills at the Fire Fighter II and Hazardous Materials Technician levels. Completion of Fire Academy I, or its equivalent, is required.

This curriculum includes courses included in the Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science Technology  and credits may be applied toward that degree.  CMC also offers certificates in Fire Academy I  and Fire Department Company Officer .

Students must demonstrate acceptable proficiency levels in reading, writing, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this certificate. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which students can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. Graduates of the program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Fire Academy II.

The Fire Academy II certificate is offered at Vail/Eagle-Valley Campus in Edwards.  This certificate program is not eligible for federal student aid funds.
