◆ ENG 121 - English Composition I (GT-CO1)3.0 Credits Prerequisites: Accuplacer Sentence Skills (SS) score of 95 or higher and Reading Comprehension (RC) score of 80 or higher; or Next Generation Accuplacer Writing scores 246-300; or equivalent ACT/SAT scores; or passed CCR 092 , CCR-093, or CCR-094 with a grade of C- or better. The college may also use previous academic history, including high school information, for placement. Students who do not meet placement criteria for ENG-121 are strongly encouraged to enroll in ENG 100 prior to ENG-121 OR to enroll in ENG 101 (co-requisite for English Composition I) concurrently with ENG-121, and to consult with English faculty or a CMC advisor for assistance in choosing the option that best fits their needs.
Emphasizes the planning, writing, and revising of compositions, including the development of critical and logical thinking skills. This course includes a wide variety of compositions that stress analytical, evaluative, and persuasive/argumentative writing. This a statewide Guaranteed Transfer course in the GT-CO1 category. Prev.
