◆ ANT 107 - Introduction to Archaeology (GT-SS3)3.0 Credits Prerequisites: Accuplacer Sentence Skills (SS) score of 95 or higher and Reading Comprehension (RC) score of 80 or higher; or Next Generation Accuplacer Writing scores 246-300; or equivalent ACT/SAT scores; or passed CCR-092, CCR-092C, CCR-093, CCR-094, or ENG-090 with a grade of C- or higher. The college may also use previous academic history, including high school information, for placement. Introduces the science of recovering the human prehistoric and historic past through excavation, analysis, and interpretation of material remains. The course provides a survey of the archaeology of different areas of the Old and New Worlds, the works of selected archaeologists, and major archaeological theories.
