◆ ECO 202 - Principles of Microeconomics (GT-SS1)

Prerequisites: Accuplacer Sentence Skills (SS) score of 95 or higher and Reading Comprehension (RC) score of 80 or higher; or Next Generation Accuplacer Writing scores 246-300; or equivalent ACT/SAT scores; or passed CCR 092 , CCR 093 , CCR 094 , or ENG-090 with a grade of C- or better. The college may also use previous academic history, including high school information, for placement.
Focuses on the consumer, the firm, the nature of cost, and how these relate to the economy as a whole. Analyzes economic models of the consumer, perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly, and monopolistic competition. Explores economic issues including market power, population growth, positive and negative externalities, income distribution, poverty and welfare, discrimination, and international economic interdependence.
