SUS 341 - Sustainable Agriculture4.0 Credits Co-requisites SUS 300 SUS-301 Prerequisites: Requires college-level reading. SUS
300 or SUS-301 must be taken concurrently if not previously completed with a grade of C- or better. This course will explore the principles of sustainable agriculture for both animal and plant production with additional focus on traditional knowledge, community-supported agriculture, permaculture, and small-scale agriculture. Field experiences may include site visits, student research plots, and practica. The course will also evaluate the resource cycles available in the individual and collective landscapes, and look at how to integrate all aspects of the resource cycle to support healthy ecological systems through agricultural practices. Water harvesting and irrigation methods, seed-banking, natural pest management, land use, and watershed sustainability will also be addressed. LEC 45 Clock hours LAB 30 Clock hours
