Certificates of Completion

Colorado Mountain College offers two types of certificate programs: certificates of occupational proficiency (CTE) and certificates of completion. This section defines certificates of completion. See the Career and Technical Degrees and Certificates  section for a description of occupational certificates.

Certificates of Completion

Colorado Mountain College offers several Certificates of Completion to students who complete a group of courses with a particular emphasis. A certificate of completion attests to successful completion of a structured program of courses designed to establish proficiency in a specific field. Individual courses are posted on a student’s transcript. COC’s are not recognized on a transcript. Please see a CMC advisor.

These courses are helpful for learning special skills or for concentrating your learning in a special area of interest. The available certificates are listed at the bottom of this page.

The Certificates of Completion are not Career & Technical Education certificates. Because they are not CTE certificates, they are not eligible for financial aid unless taken as part of a state-recognized degree or certificate. However, the requirements have been specially designed so that courses count as credit for the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of General Studies degrees. These degrees are received for transfer by Colorado’s public colleges and universities. They have been received by several other institutions as well.

Each certificate program has specific requirements, and certificates are offered only as specified.

Certificates of Completion are not eligible for federal student aid funds.
