Catalog Addendum


March 30, 2016:
MAN-499: Business Strategy was an incorrect course code. The course has been corrected to MAN-488: Business Strategy.
The Culinary Arts-Apprenticeship Year 1 and Year 2 certificate titles changed from Garde Manger and Apprentice Cook to Production Cook I and Production Cook II.

March 31, 2016:
The Rifle location was removed from the available location listings in the Accounting & Biology programs and was added to the listings for the Business AA and Psychology programs.

April 12, 2016:
Academic Calendar has been updated to reflect new open registration date. The  new open registration period begins May 9, 2016, and continues to August 28, 2016. The original period was August 1, 2016, to August 28, 2016.

April 12, 2016:
GETTING IN section under Registration: CMC payment statement is now “Payment is due by the Payment Deadline which is approximately 7 (seven) business days before the start of the semester.” Old statement was “Payment is due at the time of registration during this period.”

April 25, 2016:
SAO-102 title change to First Aid for Ski Area Operations (old title: Outdoor First Care). The old title belongs to the National Ski Patrol System and CMC will no longer be utilizing their course materials or certification due to the expensive NSP membership requirement. CMC will now be using the American Heart Association’s superior materials at a lower cost with no membership requirement.

May 4, 2016:
The Animal Shelter Management Certificate was discontinued and removed from the catalog. Students already enrolled in the program will be given 2 more years to complete.
Added a link to the Gainful Employment information on the Sustainable Cuisine Operations I Certificate program page.

May 5, 2016:
The Automotive Services Technician Certificate is currently only available for high school students enrolled in the CEPA program; the program has been removed from this catalog. If you are a high school student interested in this program, please contact Mike Trujillo, mtrujillo@coloradomtn.edu.

May 24, 2016:
The following errors were corrected:
COP: Digital Journalism, the subject FVM was added to list of elective options.
COP: Entrepreneurship E-Business, the minimum credits required of 12 was incorrect. It has been changed to correctly indicate 9 credits.
COP: Ski & Snowboard Business, the minimum credit hours required of 26-28 was incorrect. It has been changed to correctly indicate 27-28.
COP: Ski Area Operations Ropeway & Electrical Technician, the 0.5 credit HWE requirement was removed but the minimum credit hours did not reflect that change. This has been corrected.

June 2, 2016:
Clarification added to the Associate of Arts: English Literature General Education requirements. One of the physical sciences courses must have a required lab (GT-SC1).

June 14, 2016:
HIS 252-History of India was listed as a GT-HI1 course on the Guaranteed Transfer Course List in error. This course does not have a diamond symbol and has not yet been approved as part of the GT program.

June 16, 2016:
Added a clarifying statement on the Guaranteed Transfer Course List that students must pass both SCI 155 and 156 to satisfy the gtPathways science requirement.

June 17, 2016:
Added text for ENG 121, ENG 122, EDU 221, and COM 115 for the AA and BAIS Elementary Teacher Education programs, alerting students they need to earn a minimum grade of B in those courses.

June 20, 2016:
Added text on the BSN Nursing program description to clarify that students must receive a C or better in all required program courses to meet nursing degree requirements.

June 21, 2016:
BIO-105 was added as a Natural & Physical Science option for the Bachelor of Sustainability Studies programs.

July 13, 2016:
The advising guide links for the Sustainability BA and Sustainability BA with Business Emphasis programs were updated to link to the 2016-2017 version.

July 19, 2016:
Added to the BAIS- Elementary Education  Stage 3 requirements: Proof of registration for Praxis 5001 assessment, with proof of passing scores to register for EDU 440. This requirement has always been communicated to students through the program advisor.

July 22, 2016:
Colorado Department of Higher Education revised the math requirements for many Statewide Articulation Agreement AA degrees. The following program math requirements have been revised:
AA: Anthropology  
AA: Geography  
AA: Psychology  
AA: Sociology  

NRE-252: General Oceanography I Lab was erroneously still listed as an elective option in the Associate of Science (AS) degree. This course was removed from the master course list in 2013 and NRE 251  now includes the lab material that was covered in NRE-252.

The math requirements for the Associate of Science (AS)  and the AS: Environmental Science  programs were revised to clarify which GT-MA1 math classes students should select from.

July 25, 2016:
The 2 credit CMC Wellness Requirement was added to the new AA: Communication  and AA: Geography  programs. The elective requirement was adjusted to accommodate this requirement.

July 27, 2016:
OUT-131 Rock Climbing I was discontinued at the end of the 2014-2015 Academic Year; however, it was still listed as the pre-requisite for OUT 132  Rock Climbing II. This error has been corrected.

August 11, 2016:
Steamboat Springs was added to the AA: Early Childhood Education  program locations list.

August 18, 2016:
Removed the Gainful Employment link from the Ski Area Operations: Slope and Trail Maintenance Certificates   program description. These certificates are not eligible for Financial Aid.

August 19, 2016:
Removed the Gainful Employment link from the Fire Sicence Technology: Fire Investigation Certificate   program description. This certificate is not eligible for Financial Aid.

December 9, 2020:

GIS was listed as a elective prefix option for the AA Outdoor Education program, but none of the GIS courses are transfer courses and would not count. This prefix has been removed due to the error.
