Permaculture Design Certificate

Through pursuing the Permaculture Design Certificate of Occupational Proficiency, students learn basic principles and applications of permaculture. Permaculture is a vision, set of ethical and practical principles, design system, and practice. Permaculture is aimed at supporting human needs equitably in culturally and environmentally diverse communities while simultaneously promoting the long-term health and integrity of both nature and culture. It is sustainability in action with a special focus on creating food systems that mimic the dynamic stability of healthy ecosystems.

Graduates will earn a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Permaculture Design. The courses in this certificate can be applied to the Sustainability Emphasis (AA)  associate’s degree and the Integrated Sustainability (BA)  bachelor’s degree.

This Permaculture Design certificate is offered in person at Colorado Mountain College in Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, and Vail Valley at Edwards campuses. The courses may also be available remotely on a limited basis. Please check with your local campus for details as to its availability.
