Accounting: Bookkeeper Basics Certificate

The Bookkeeper Basics Certificate is a program designed to allow students to acquire the technical skills to support accountants and financial professionals with entry level tasks. Introduction to accounting theory and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) supports student learning in computerized accounting tasks and the specialized areas of Payroll and Sales Tax accounting.

This certificate curriculum includes the courses in the Bookkeeper Certificate , the Professional Bookkeeper Certificate , the Accounting Paraprofessional (AAS)  and credits may be applied to these degrees. Many of the courses are included in the Associates of Arts Business Emphasis  and the Bachelor of Science Business Administration with an Accounting Minor  and some credits may be applied to these degrees.

Students must demonstrate college-level proficiency in composition, reading, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this program. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which students can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program.
