This Carpentry Advanced certificate is the second of two Certificates of Occupational Proficiency In Carpentry: Basic and Advanced. The Carpentry Advanced program will prepare students for a career in the Carpentry and Construction Industry. Areas of instruction are rigging equipment and practices, trenching and excavating, concrete and reinforcing concrete, foundations, slab on grade, vertical and horizontal formwork, handling and placing concrete, tilt-up wall systems, site layout, advanced systems (roof, wall, and stair), introduction to heavy equipment, site preparation, fundamentals of crew leadership, and more. Students will also complete a highly skilled carpentry internship.
Students will be able to earn mobile digital badging of Carpentry Level III and Carpentry Level IV from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) after completion of each level in the program. Upon completion of all courses in the program, students will earn a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency from Colorado Mountain College in Advanced Carpentry.
