During three semesters, students will complete over 1000 hours of classroom, clinical, and field instruction. This program prepares the students for the National Registry Paramedic Examination. Students are responsible for all associated costs some of which are: CBI background check, National Registry Exam and Colorado Certification. Additional requirements may apply at individual clinical sites.
Students must demonstrate college-level proficiency in composition, reading, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this certificate. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which you can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. This program has selective admission requirements. Admission criteria may change from year to year. Therefore, it is the student’s responsibility to obtain the current year’s admission packet. An admission packet can be obtained by contacting Pre-enrollment Services. You must be selected for admission to enroll in this program. This program has a fee that may be non-refundable. Graduates of the program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Paramedic.
The Paramedic certificate is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Vail Valley at Edwards. Please see your advisor for a recommended sequence of courses.
This certificate curriculum includes many of the courses included in the Associate of Applied Science degree in Paramedic and credits may be applied toward that degree. CMC also offers certificates in Emergency Medical Technician , Advanced Emergency Medical Technician , Wilderness Emergency Medical Services , Rope Rescue Technician , and Wilderness Medical Professional .
For federal student aid purposes, this program is defined as 42 credit hours and 60 weeks.
