Colorado Mountain College offers students the opportunity to complete the AA-Elementary Education requirements at CMC and then finish their last two years with another Colorado 4-year college of their choice. Upon completion of the last two years of the 4-year college’s Elementary Education program, students will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree and will be eligible for elementary education licensure.
Students must apply separately for co-admission into the 4-year college portion of their teacher education program at the end of their first year of study with Colorado Mountain College. At that time, the student will sign an agreement with both CMC and the other college outlining the final 19 credits that will be required to complete the AA portion of this degree.
This program requires close coordination between the student and the 4-year college where they plan to finish. Students in this program must decide which 4-year college they plan to transfer to no later than the end of their first year at Colorado Mountain College. This allows the student both fall and spring semesters of their final year with CMC to complete the final 19 credits that are recommended by the 4-year college. Some of those classes recommended by the 4-year college may be offered only in the fall or only in the spring at Colorado Mountain College, which is why students need a full year to integrate those classes into their schedules! For more information on the additional 19 credits go to http://highered.colorado.gov/Academics/Transfers/Agreements/eled-other19.pdf.
