   BUS 426 - Contracts and Negotiations

3.0 Credits
Prerequisites: COM 115 ; ENG 121 ; BUS 217  
Designed to educate students on navigating through business practices as it pertains to creating and executing contracts through negotiations. Students will develop a solid understanding of the contracting process and key elements of procurement and acquisition, including contract formation, negotiation, financial analysis and risk management. Basic differences between contract types and how they are selected to mitigate risk in a contractual environment will be explored, as well as identifying the key distinctions between commercial, government, and international contracting process. Key concepts for building good business relationships and dealing with obstacles in the negotiation process will be discussed.
