◆ CHE 111 - General College Chemistry I (GT-SC1)5.0 Credits Prerequisites: CHE 101 (or one year of high school chemistry) and MAT 121 ; or instructor permission. Focuses on basic chemistry and measurement, matter, chemical formulas, reactions and equations, stoichiometry, and thermochemistry. Covers the development of atomic theory culminating in the use of quantum numbers to determine electron configurations of atoms, and the relationship of electron configuration to chemical bond theory and molecular orbital theory.
