MAT 0300 - Algebraic Literacy4.0 Credits Co-requisites must be taken concurrently for students with Next Generation Accuplacer QAS scores 250-264. Prerequisites: Accuplacer Elementary Algebra (EA) score 45-84; or Accuplacer Next Generation Quantitative Algebra and Statistics (QAS) score 250-264; or passed MAT 0250 with a C- or better. Accuplacer Next Generation Quantitative Algebra and Statistics (QAS) score 265+ can waive the MAT 0200 co-requisite. The college may also use previous academic history, including high school information, for placement. Develops algebraic skills necessary for manipulating expressions and solving equations. Topics in the course include radicals, complex numbers, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, quadratic equations, absolute value equations, systems of linear equations in two variables, related applications, and linear inequalities.
