◆ MAT 1340 - College Algebra (GT-MA1)4.0 Credits Prerequisites: The college may use previous academic history, including high school information, for placement. Students who do not meet placement criteria for MAT-1340 are strongly encouraged to enroll in MAT 0300 prior to MAT 1340 or participate in supplemental academic instructions throughout the duration of the course as prescribed by the instructor. Consult with math faculty or a CMC advisor for assistance in choosing the option that best fits their needs. This course is designed for students with appropriate algebra preparation.
This course provides, free of cost, 15 additional contact hours for support, such as review of prerequisite material, study and test-taking strategies, and reinforcement of course learning outcomes.
Focuses on a variety of functions and the exploration of their graphs. Topics include: equations and inequalities, operations on functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, linear and non-linear systems, and an introduction to conic sections.
