NUR 166 - Nursing Roles & Scope of Practice2.0 Credits Differentiates the roles and scope of practice of the Practical Nurse and the Registered Nurse as defined by the Colorado Nurse Practice Act with exploration of the five roles of the nurse including provider, manager, teacher, member of the profession, and advocate as implemented in today’s healthcare environment. Presents the history of the nursing profession. Emphasis is placed on ethical/legal issues in nursing and the major concepts of critical thinking, delegation, cultural competency, communication, safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
