Residence Hall

You are now a Colorado Mountain College Residence Life housing community member. During your time on campus, you have the opportunity to engage in meaningful educational experiences in and outside of the classroom. All facets of Colorado Mountain College are focused on learning and success.

We have created the following information as a guide to those living in the residence halls. Please read this information as it will help you understand the College’s expectations of all residents and become aware of opportunities that will make your college experience unforgettable. CMC reserves the right to modify this document at any time and to vary procedures outlined in this handbook in appropriate situations. This Student Handbook and Academic Catalog provide important and helpful information. Please review and reference the important and helpful information in these online documents throughout your time at CMC.

Your choice to attend CMC and live on campus has set you up to succeed. Living in the residence hall puts you in the middle of many opportunities to learn, grow, and be curious. As you begin your CMC experience and become familiar with your new community, be open to understanding those who appear to be different from you, courageously seek new experiences, and respectfully share your own perspectives with others. The Residence Life Staff will encourage you to dive into your courses and the campus community early. Consider getting involved in some of the many clubs, organizations, or activities on campus.

Office of Residence Life

The Office of Residence Life coordinates all aspects of on-campus living at the Colorado Mountain College residential campuses. The Residence Life staff on each campus includes trained professional and student staff:

  • Resident Assistants (RA) are students living in the hall
  • Residence Life Assistants (RLA) are part or full-time staff living in the hall
  • Residence Life Coordinators (RLC) are professional staff living in the hall
  • Student Activities Coordinators may live on or off campus
  • Directors of Student Life and Housing (DSLH) live off campus.

The Office of Residence Life seeks resident input and is committed to providing you with the best experience possible. You are encouraged to stop by the Office of Residence Life or talk with Residence Life staff to share concerns, ideas, or suggestions.

We believe that living in a residence hall can be an opportunity for residents to experience the open exchange of ideas and social growth. Living on campus makes it easy to integrate into the campus social network of peers, faculty, and staff, and extracurricular activities to explore aesthetic, cultural, and intellectual attitudes and values while residing in a structured environment. This integration significantly and positively influences the residential student’s academic achievement and degree completion.
