The Wildfire Mitigation and Forest Resilience certificate is a three-semester program designed for students seeking to enter the workforce with specialized skills in wildfire science and forest health. This program can assist both students and early-career professionals looking to advance in the fields of wildfire management and forest health. The curriculum focuses on understanding wildland fire science and applications such as suppression strategies, mitigation techniques, and forest health practices, to prepare students for careers in wildfire response and suppression, mitigation planning and treatment, and forest stewardship and management.
Graduates of this program will earn a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Wildfire Mitigation and Forest Resilience.
This program is available at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, Salida, and Steamboat Springs.
