✽ Sustainability Emphasis (AA)

The Sustainability emphasis prepares students for entry-level work in sustainability action and coordination in areas such as food systems, climate action, and waste reduction and diversion. The emphasis also includes many courses that serve as prerequisites for CMC’s BA program in Integrated Sustainability. AA graduates are well-prepared to continue their studies at CMC by pursuing the BA program. 
 
The emphasis can also prepare students to transfer into four-year environmental and sustainability programs in areas such as energy and climate, environmental education, environmental policy, natural resource management, environmental sociology, or sustainability studies.

This program is open to remote learners, or courses may be taken in person at the Breckenridge, Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, and Vail Valley at Edwards CMC campuses. Some courses may require limited in-person experience-based attendance. Some courses may not be offered in-person at all of the above campuses.
