Education (BA) Elementary Education & Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education Pathway


Elementary educators work in dynamic and diverse learning environments that require the ability to adapt teaching strategies, effectively communicate with students and families, and foster inclusive classrooms. This program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and cultural competence needed to inspire and support learners from varied backgrounds.

Graduates of this program earn a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with an endorsement in culturally and linguistically diverse education.

Students meet the requirements to pursue teacher licensure, preparing them to lead classrooms with confidence and compassion. Through this BA pathway, students can apply to the Colorado Department of Education for endorsements in: 

  • Elementary Education
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education

Students who have attained an Associates of Arts with an emphasis in Elementary Education  from CMC or any other Colorado Community College have a clear path to complete this Bachelors of Arts in Education pathway.

Accreditation for the Elementary Education Program

The Elementary Education program is accredited by the Colorado Department of Education, ensuring that the curriculum meets the highest standards in teacher preparation.

Year One- Fall


(13 credits, 20 field hours)

The following courses are preferred to best prepare for state-mandated teacher exams, called Praxis tests or Multiple Measures

Year One- Spring
