Sustainability Leadership Certificate

The Sustainability Leadership certificate of occupational proficiency (SLC) program is designed for people who seek to gain additional skills in the rapidly growing field of sustainability. Students develop relevant knowledge and skills in areas such as:

  • Transformational Systems Thinking
  • Climate Action in Communities
  • Sustainability Science for Climate Action
  • Place-Based Environmental and Social Justice
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainability

The certificate helps prepare people to contribute to a more sustainable future within their communities and beyond. Students will earn a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Sustainability Leadership from Colorado Mountain College. The SLC has the potential to increase the earning power of certificate graduates within their current professions and/or as they pursue new careers. 

The Sustainability Leadership certificate courses may be taken remotely or in person at Breckenridge, Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, and Vail Valley at Edwards campuses. Courses taken in this COP can be applied as upper-division electives for the Integrated Sustainability (BA) bachelor’s degree.
