HVAC Basic Certificate

This HVAC Basic certificate is the first of two Certificates of Occupational Proficiency in HVAC: Basic and Advanced. The HVAC Basic Program will prepare students for a career in the HVAC service industry. Areas of instruction are Intro to HVAC, trade mathematics, basic electricity, introduction to heating, cooling, air distribution systems, basic copper and plastic piping, soldering, brazing, carbon steel piping, A/C current, compressors, refrigerant/oils, leak detection, heat pumps, metering devices, venting systems, sheet metal, air quality systems, intro to Hydronics and more.

Students will be able to earn mobile digital badging of HVAC Core, HVAC Level I, and HVAC Level II from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) after completion of each level in the program. Upon completion of the program, students will earn a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency from Colorado Mountain College in basic HVAC.

This certificate program is available at Colorado Mountain College in Vail Valley at Edwards, Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs, and Rifle for Concurrent Enrollment Program Act (CEPA) students only.
