Resort Management (AAS)


Students must demonstrate college-level proficiency in composition, reading, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this program. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence in which you can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. For more details, please see the Academic Placement and Testing  section.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Resort Management from Colorado Mountain College. You may also be eligible to receive the Educational Institute of American Hotel and Lodging Association’s Hospitality Management Diploma. Additionally, Colorado Mountain College and Western State College have signed an agreement that allows students in the Resort Management degree to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in either Marketing or Management. Please consult with your advisor about requirements for these options.

Many of the courses in the Resort Management program are designed to transfer to baccalaureate degree granting institutions; see your advisor for details and for a recommended sequence of courses.

The Resort Management degree is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Aspen, Steamboat Springs, and Vail Valley at Edwards. Not every class is offered on every campus, some campuses may require technology enhanced modalities to complete the degree. The following courses fulfill the program requirements for the AAS Degree in Resort Management ; additionally these courses comprise the Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Hospitality Operations. Please work with your advisor on course selection to fulfill degree requirements in order to move seamlessly from the Hospitality Operations Certificate to the AAS Resort Management and then to the Bachelor of Applied Science.
