Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study

Located in the heart of ski resort country, our kitchen lab overlooks beautiful Steamboat Springs. We offer classes scheduled early in the day and early in the week so students can juggle work and student life.

The Bakery Arts COP (Certification of Occupational Proficiency) will develop professionalism and proficiency in preparation procedures, production methods and presentation techniques for pastry, baked goods and desserts, as well as cost control and food safety. Students have the opportunity to learn in the field as well as in the classroom. Students will leave Colorado Mountain College armed not only with strong baking skills after completing the Bakery Arts certificate, but also with hands-on experience and contacts in the field. The hiring managers in Steamboat Springs are ready to hire and mentor CMC students who invest time in their industry-based education.

This certificate curriculum includes many of the courses included in the Restaurant & Culinary Management (AAS)  and credits may be applied toward that degree. The AAS degree courses fulfill many of the requirements for the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) - Leadership & Management . Please consult with your advisor about requirements for this option.

This certificate program is not eligible for federal student aid funds.
