Picture of students getting hands-on experience for their Natural Resource Management (AAS) degree at CMC.Natural Resource Management (NRM) graduates will gain fundamental knowledge, skills, and experience in a breadth of physical and life sciences. Whether seeking a transfer pathway to a four-year program or entry-level employment, graduates of the NRM program are equipped to successfully pursue further education and continue working towards their career goals.

NRM students will have the opportunity to apply for paid summer employment with the Natural Resource Management Field Institute. Additionally, there are typically several need-based work study positions available to NRM students throughout the academic year. Paid employment opportunities provide NRM graduates with field-based experiential learning and individualized mentorship by professional staff and faculty who have experience working in the industry.

Students must demonstrate college-level proficiency in composition, reading, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this program. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which students can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. Graduates of the program will receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Natural Resource Management.

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Natural Resource Management is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville. CMC also offers a certificate in NRM Field Technician .

This program operates on public lands and rivers with special permits from the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Colorado State Parks, and National Park Service.
