EMT: Paramedic Certificate

Picture of work with Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certificate from CMC.This certificate provides the highest level of pre-hospital medical care for sick and injured persons. This field is growing at an enormous rate. EMT-Paramedic is the highest certification for a pre-hospital provider, requiring high-level responsibilities, such as patient stabilization, extrication, scene management, advanced level life support procedures, and patient transportation.

The one-year program at Colorado Mountain College will train you to deal with these and many other types of emergencies. During three semesters, you will complete over 1000 hours of classroom, clinical, and field instruction. This program prepares the students for the National Registry Paramedic Examination. Students are responsible for all associated costs some of which are: CBI background check, National Registry Exam and Colorado Certification. Additional requirements may apply at individual clinical sites.

Students must demonstrate college-level proficiency in composition, reading, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this certificate. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which you can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. This program has selective admission requirements. Admission criteria may change from year to year. Therefore, it is the student’s responsibility to obtain the current year’s admission packet. An admission packet can be obtained by contacting Pre-enrollment Services. You must be selected for admission to enroll in this program. This program has a fee that may be non-refundable. Please see your advisor for more information.

Graduates of the program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in EMT-Paramedic.

EMT-Paramedic is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Vail Valley at Edwards. Please see your advisor for a recommended sequence of courses.

This certificate curriculum includes many of the courses included in the Associate of Applied Science degree in EMT Paramedic  and credits may be applied toward that degree. CMC also offers certificates in EMT-Basic , EMT-Intermediate , and Wilderness Emergency Medical Services 

For federal student aid purposes, this program is defined as 49 credit hours and 60 weeks.
