Provides a comprehensive introduction to modern geological and chemical oceanography. Includes earth history, plate tectonics, geophysics, geochemistry, marine sediments, the hydrosphere, physical properties of salt water, major and minor components of seawater, and ocean-atmoshphere interactions.
