GEO 2009 - Social Geography of Inequality3.0 Credits Prerequisites: Prior completion of GEO 1006 or ANT 1001 is recommended, but not required. This course examines ways in which social inequities arose as by-products of early human adaptations to variations in environmental quality and how the resulting inequalities appear on the modern landscape. The present-day social and environmental effects this course explores include warfare, terrorism, poverty, misogyny, racism, environmental degradation, and the effects of livestock on natural systems. The effects of social and environmental justice movements are also considered. LEC 45 Contact hours
