◆ SOC 216 - Sociology of Gender (GT-SS3)3.0 Credits Prerequisites: Accuplacer Sentence Skills (SS) score of 95 or higher and Reading Comprehension (RC) score of 80 or higher; or Next Generation Accuplacer Writing scores 246 or higher; or equivalent ACT/SAT scores; or passed CCR 092 , CCR 093 , CCR 094 , or ENG-090 with a grade of C- or better. Gives students the theoretical and factual background necessary to understand the phenomenon of gender stratification in American and other cultures. Students will be exposed to a history of gender stratification in human societies, theoretical explanations for this, and insights into the consequences of gender differentiation in our world today.
