MAT 055 - Algebraic Literacy4.0 Credits
Co-requisites must be taken concurrently for students with Next Generation Accuplacer QAS scores 250-264.
Prerequisites: Accuplacer Elementary Algebra (EA) score 45-84; or Accuplacer Next Generation Quantitative Algebra and Statistics (QAS) score 250-264; or passed MAT 050 with a C- or better. Accuplacer Next Generation Quantitative Algebra and Statistics (QAS) score 265+ can waive the MAT-025 co-requisite.
Develops skills necessary for manipulating algebraic expressions and solving algebraic equations. Topics in the course include radicals, complex numbers, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, quadratic equations, absolute value equations and inequalities, systems of linear equations, related applications, and math learning strategies. This course prepares students for College Algebra and Finite Math.
