Applied Engineering: Basic Welding and Cutting Certificate

This certificate is designed to provide the skills necessary for the student to successfully enter the welding field. Graduates will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Basic Welding and Cutting. The Basic Welding and Cutting certificate is offered at Colorado Mountain College Rifle and Colorado Mountain College Leadville.
This certificate program is not eligible for federal student aid funds.

Minimum Hours Required
Minimum Credit Hours Required (8) Minimum Contact Hours Required (180) * Completing both the Basic Welding and Cutting Certificate and Pipe Welding Certificates will prepare students to take the American Welding Society (AWS) certification exam. Note:

These programs bring together skill sets that prepare students for entry-level employment in the rapidly growing field of energy, including non-renewable areas related to oil and gas production, renewable energy, and sustainability. Additionally, students already employed in energy or related fields can receive additional skills for career advancement. Students learn in an interactive, hands-on lab setting focusing on natural gas and petroleum production, developing alternative energy solutions, and renewable energy technologies.
