Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. The Bachelor of Science degree program in Business Administration (BSBA) is a unique, dynamic 21st century business program incorporating practical education, Western Colorado workplace training and sustainability of business. The following information is for new BSBA degree candidate students coming to CMC for the first time:
- Colorado students with an Associate of Arts, Business emphasis in hand will be fully considered for admission into the BSBA program per the statewide articulation agreement as detailed here: Associate of Arts, Business ;
- Colorado students with completed courses in any discipline which meet the State Guaranteed Transfer Course designation (courses with a ◆ symbol), and earned a C- or better will receive transfer credits but may need to complete additional associates degree level coursework as detailed in the BSBA Program Guide;
- Out-of-state students with completed associates degree level coursework will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis;
- All students with completed junior or senior level business coursework may have individual business courses transfer and count toward the graduation requirements for CMC’s BSBA degree, evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
All BSBA degree candidates should review the BSBA degree requirements in the BSBA Advising Guide . CMC’s BSBA program also offers Emphasis Areas in Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), Marketing, and Sustainable Business. Please contact a campus counselor or academic advisor at the preferred campus for more information.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program is available at all Colorado Mountain College locations with limited face-to-face classes on some campuses. Please contact preferred campus for details. Not every course is offered on every campus.

To obtain an emphasis as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, complete the 15 credits of coursework requirements for one of the emphasis areas shown below. Emphasis area courses successfully completed will count toward the 18 credits of upper-division business electives required to complete the BSBA degree. Students who wish to complete an Accounting emphasis will complete 27 credits in the Emphasis, of which 9 credits will be applied to the “Other Open Electives” requirement.
Accounting Emphasis (27 credits)
Students who intend to qualify to take the CPA exam in Colorado as either (1) a BSBA degree-seeking student or (2) as a bachelor-degree holding student returning to college, who register for any ACC course should only choose among courses offered in this emphasis area. Students must earn a grade of C or higher for credits to count towards CPA exam qualification (Colorado Revised Statutes).

PLEASE NOTE: Students are encouraged to take courses that fulfill an emphasis or concentration that may lead to employment in a business-related field. Electives may be any course numbered 100-499 from guaranteed transfer, general transfer, or career & technical education program courses. No PED 100-249 or PED 275 courses allowed for the elective portion of the degree. It is highly recommended that students seek academic advising in their degree planning.
