Resort Management: Hospitality Operations Certificate



Picture of a resort where someone could work with a Hospitality Operations Certificate from CMC.This certificate gives you the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to obtain an entry-level supervisory position in the lodging, food and beverage, or resort industry. The certificate also provides the opportunity for individuals already in the industry to upgrade skills and broaden their areas of expertise.

Upon completion of the Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Hospitality Operations and the Associate of Applied Science in Resort Management degree, the bachelor degree-seeking student can obtain a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) or a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with an emphasis in Resort Management from Colorado Mountain College.

Students must demonstrate acceptable proficiency levels in composition and reading for courses within this certificate. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence in which you can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. Graduates of the program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Hospitality Operations. Please see your advisor for a recommended sequence of courses.

The Hospitality Operations Certificate is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, Vail Valley at Edwards, and Online. CMC also offers a certificate in Spa Management 

For federal student aid purposes, this program is defined as 25 credits hours and 30 weeks of instruction and is financial aid eligible.

Program Requirements


The following courses fulfill the program requirements for the AAS Degree in Resort Management ; additionally these courses comprise the Certificate of Completion in Hospitality Operations. They are also the emphasis area of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA)  or the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS)  degree when used in conjunction with those requirements. Please work with your advisor on course selection to fulfill degree requirements in order to move seamlessly from the Hospitality Operations Certificate to the AAS Resort Management and into the BSBA or BAS with an Emphasis in Resort Management.
