The following certificates (A+, CCNA, MOS, Network+, Security+, and Server+) are designed to prepare students for skills upgrade or entry-level careers in various information technology fields. These certificates provide students with the knowledge and hands-on skills to build, secure, and manage local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), and learn Microsoft Office computer skills, and how to protect vital information. Additionally, some certificates provide students with the necessaryskills and knowledge to pass specific industry certifications, such as Comp TIA A+, Microsoft Office Specialist, Network+, Security+, Server+, and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Students may need to demonstrate college-level proficiency in reading and mathematical skills before entering these programs. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which students can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete the program. See the Academic Placement and Testing section.
Graduates of these programs will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in the specific areas listed below.
The Information Technology certificates are offered at specific campuses and/or through Online Learning. Many of the courses/certificates are available using a hybrid model with online course work and course-specific labs offered at one of our campuses. Some travel to campus lab sites may be required. Certificate: Microsoft® Office Specialist
This program prepares you to earn an industry certificate as a Proficient Specialist or Expert Specialist for the Microsoft® Office Suite of productivity software. Colorado Mountain College’s certificate teaches all the skills necessary to pass each Microsoft® application expert exam and thereby earn the globally-recognized MOS Master certification. Graduates of this program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Microsoft® Office Specialist.
The Microsoft® Office Specialist program is offered at the Roaring Fork Campus - Glenwood Springs and through Online Learning.
