OUT 1550 - Alpine Skills3.0 Credits
This course develops a combination of fundamental skills and practical experience in an alpine environment. Core concepts include basic alpine techniques for successful 4th and 5th class approaches on snow, ice, and rock. Equipment usage, safety systems, mountain travel and awareness, problem solving and decision-making, high altitude climate and weather, and wilderness ethics are core components of the curriculum.
