ESS 4400 - Watershed Science4.0 Credits Prerequisites: CHE 1111 , ESS 3000 , and ESS 3500 with a grade of C- or higher. ESS 3500 may be taken concurrently with this course. Explores watersheds as interconnected biotic and abiotic systems essential to ecosystem function. Integrates principles from hydrology, geology, climatology, soil science, and ecology to understand how physical watershed structure influences biological community processes. The course emphasizes human impacts to hydrogeomorphology and freshwater ecosystem health, from water quality to watershed resilience. Includes hands-on experience in field and laboratory techniques.
