ESS 3000 - Foundations of Ecosystem Science3.0 Credits Prerequisites: ENG 1022 , MAT 1240 (or higher), BIO 1111 , BIO 1112 , CHE 1111 , and BIO 2124 with a grade of C- or higher. Explores the functioning of the Earth as a single, complex, adaptive system driven by interactions between physical, chemical, and biological components. This is an interdisciplinary course focusing on the interactions within and between the geosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, atmosphere, biosphere and anthroposphere with an emphasis on understanding, predicting, and responding to natural and human-caused environmental change at local and global scales.
