SUS 3100 - Ecology4.0 Credits Prerequisites: BIO 1005 or BIO 1111 or BIO 1112 ; and either SUS 3000 or SUS 3010 with a grade of C- or higher. SUS 3000 or SUS 3010 must be taken concurrently with this course if neither course has been previously completed with a grade of C- or better.
Explores the inter-relationships between organisms and their past, present, and future environments. Relationships include the physiological responses of individuals, the structure of populations, the interactions among species, the organization of biological communities, and the processing of energy and matter in ecosystems. Course addresses the biotic and abiotic factors that influence the distribution, abundance, and diversity of life on Earth. Ecosystem function, health, and sustainability will be explored in the context of global change and human impacts on natural systems. Includes laboratory and field experiences. Prev.
