✽ AST 1001 - Colorado Night Sky I1.0 Credits Develops an appreciation of and competence in observational astronomy with the naked eye or binoculars, including knowledge of the seasonal circumpolar constellations and of the location of interesting objects in those constellations. Emphasis is on deep sky observing, including various types of stars, nebula, clusters, and galaxies. Basic tools of the astronomer are also covered. The focus is on observation rather than theory.
