Natural Resource Management: Field Technician Certificate



Picture of a student earning her Natural Resource Management: Field Technician Certificate at CMC.This certificate is designed for students to acquire the proper techniques for field equipment use in soil and water sampling. It is also designed to give students a fundamental understanding of natural resources and the monitoring needs required in determining the impacts of resource allocation on natural systems.  This certificate is designed for individuals who already have a degree and/or are seeking to build their skill base for employment.

 

This certificate curriculum includes many of the courses included in the Associate of Applied Science degree in Natural Resource Management  and credits may be applied toward that degree.

Students must demonstrate acceptable proficiency levels in reading, writing, and mathematics as prerequisites for courses within this program. Skills in these areas may affect the sequence of courses in which students can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. Graduates of the program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in Field Technician.

The Field Technician certificate is offered at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville. Following is a suggested sequence of courses. Consult with an adviser for details to develop a personalized schedule.  For federal student aid purposes, this program is defined as 19 credit hours and 45 weeks.
