Associate of General Studies (AGS) Generalist



Picture of students working towards their Generalist (AGS) degree at CMC.This degree includes a basic core of General Education courses in specific discipline areas listed below. In addition, you may select up to 41 elective credits in any one academic discipline, area of personal interest, or occupational field. You must consult with an advisor to develop a written plan of objectives, and identify courses you will need to take to meet the requirements of this degree. The plan must be approved by your advisor.

The Associate of General Studies: Generalist degree is offered at all Colorado Mountain College campuses. Not every course is offered on every campus.

General Education Requirements


Mathematics/Science (GT-MA1, GT-SC1-2)


Minimum 3 credits from the following courses. Students who take SCI 155  must also take SCI 156  to satisfy this requirement.

Social and Behavioral Sciences (GT-HI1 and SS1-3)


3 credits from the following courses.

Arts & Humanities


3 credits from the following courses.

Transfer & State Guaranteed General Education Electives


Minimum 18 credits. Courses numbered 100-299 which have an asterisk (✽) or State Guarantee General Education (◆) denotation in course description section of the catalog.  No PED 100-249 or PED 275  courses allowed for this requirement.

 

Other Electives


Minimum 25 credits. Select from courses numbered 100-299.   No PED or activity-based OUT courses allowed for this requirement.

Wellness Requirements Transfer Level (✽)


2 credits.

Colorado Mountain College Requirements


Colorado Mountain College requires its graduates to be proficient in computer use. To graduate, a student must demonstrate proficiency via an examination administered by the college or take CIS 118 . If you take the course, it will be applied to the elective credit.
