Associate of General Studies (AGS) Generalist

This degree includes a basic core of General Education courses in specific discipline areas listed below. In addition, you may select up to 41 elective credits in any one academic discipline, area of personal interest, or occupational field. You must consult with an advisor to develop a written plan of objectives, and identify courses you will need to take to meet the requirements of this degree. The plan must be approved by your advisor.

The Associate of General Studies: Generalist degree is offered at all Colorado Mountain College campuses. Not every course is offered on every campus, some campuses may require travel between sites or technology enabled learning modalities (web conference, hybrid, online) to complete the degree. General Education Requirements (15 credits)

Written Communication (GT-CO1-3)


Select 1 course (3 credits) from the following:

Mathematics (GT-MA1)/ Natural & Physical Sciences (GT-SC1-2)


Select 1 course (3 credits minimum) from content areas:

GT-MA1: Mathematics  
GT-SC1: Science Courses with Required Laboratory  
GT-SC2: Science Courses without Required Laboratory  

Note: Students who take SCI 1055  must also take SCI 1056  to satisfy this requirement
 

Arts & Humanities (GT-AH1-4)


Select 1 course (3 credits) from content areas:

GT-AH1: Arts and Expression  
GT-AH2: Literature and Humanities  
GT-AH3: Ways of Thinking  
GT-AH4: World Languages  
 

Social & Behavioral Sciences (GT-SS3) / History (GT-HI1)


Select 1 course (3 credits) from content areas:

GT-SS3: Human Behavior, Culture, and Social Frameworks
