Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Career & Technical Degrees and Certificates

The certificate programs prepare  graduates to directly enter the historic preservation trades, specialized skills, and construction fields. The curriculum also provides the opportunity for experienced trades practitioners to upgrade their skills and knowledge to work on historic buildings. Students may earn a certificate in one or more specialties: generalist, research and documentation, or construction.

This curriculum includes courses in the Associate of Applied Science degree in Historic Preservation and credits may be applied toward that degree.

Students must demonstrate college-level proficiency in reading as a prerequisite for courses within this degree or certificate. Your proficiency may affect the sequence in which you can enroll and may also extend the time required to complete this program. For more details, please see the Academic Placement and Testing  section.

Graduates of the program will receive a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in the Historic Preservation specialty chosen. Please see your advisor for a recommended sequence of courses.

The Historic Preservation Certificates of Occupational Proficiency are offered at Leadville. Certain courses may be available as web-based courses. See the section on Courses  for more information.
